Fukt Magazine No. 23 - The Sound Issue
The Sound Issue traces the relation between sound and drawing, where they meet, overlap, and translate each other.
How can a drawing capture rhythm, voice, or noise? What does sound look like on paper?
From graphic scores and musical structures to resonance, vibration, and listening, this issue brings together artists who turn sound into image and image into sound. Some works follow the pulse of music, others trace the invisible currents of electromagnetic fields, the voices of whales, or the inner sound of thought and memory.
Featuring Richard McGuire, Christina Kubisch, Daphne Oram, Dannielle Tegeder, Ariel Guzik, Katja Pudor, Zita Borbély, Lauren Housego, Camille Norment, Christine Sun Kim, Raven Chacon, Christine Ödlund, Clara Mosconi, Eduardo Partida, Henrique Vaz, Iannis Xenakis, Jorinde Voigt, Wei Ting Tseng, William Engelen, Diogo Pimentão, Irma Blank, Violaine Lochu, Dom Bouffard, Volodymyr Agafonkin, Channa Horwitz, Margaret Watts Hughes, Satch Hoyt, Julien Gachadoat, Satoshi Tomiie, Hildur Guðnadóttir and Brian Eno.
