Mini-book Workshop 

(EN) In this workshop we’ll learn how to make a cute mini book with colourful cloth covers. You will be guided through the steps of how to make a glue binding and to glue covers with book binding cloth. We’ll finish off with a little collage element and you can take home a cute miniature book for text or tiny drawings. Open to all levels of experience. 

(DE) In diesem Workshop lernen wir, wie man ein süßes Mini-Buch mit farbenfrohen Gewebeeinbänden herstellt. Du lernst, wie man eine Klebebindung anfertigt und wie man Einbänden mit Buchbinderleinen macht. Zum Abschluss gestalten wir noch ein kleines Collage-Element. Anschließend kannst du dein eigenes Miniaturbuch mit nach Hause nehmen – perfekt für Texte oder kleine Zeichnungen. Der Workshop ist für alle Erfahrungsstufen geeignet.

Cost: 45 Euro + 5 Euro (Materialkosten / Material fee: The material costs are paid directly to the instructor.)

* Grundlegende Werkzeuge wie Ahle, Falzbein und Faden, sowie hochwertige Papiere und Karton, werden für den Workshop zur Verfügung gestellt.
* Diese Veranstaltung findet ab 4 Teilnehmer:innen statt. (Max. 6 Teilnehmer:innen).

Instructor

Julia Fabricius (born 1993 in Gothenburg, Sweden) lives and works in Berlin as a graphic designer and bookbinder. She studied fine arts and art history at Brooklyn College (2014) and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Design at University of Europe in Berlin (2018). Following her degree, Julia studied book history at Lund University in Sweden, and completed an internship at a bookbindery (Buchbinderei Alexandra Klünder) in Berlin. An important part of Julia's practice involves teaching workshops in bookbinding as well as supporting other creatives with their artist's books. She has been giving workshops both at universities, book fairs and at einBuch.haus since 2021.
