Cities in Flight or the Satellite Variations is an installation originally presented in 2019 at einBuchHaus. De la Torre takes James Blish’s science-fiction novel as a point of departure to explore the architecture of storytelling and to construct a parallel narrative that runs alongside the original. This print is one of the possible variations, composed from words revealed through the deliberate dog-earing of multiple pages―each fold intentionally exposing selected words that together form a new sentence.
