Lisa Marie Schmitt
This print is taken from Lisa Marie Schmitt’s artist book About Fences, Defense and Non-human Gatekeepers, created during the Sounds like a Book residency in Șona, Romania in 2024. The book explores the relationship between fences and stray dogs in both rural and urban environments in Romania, drawing parallels between human-made borders, societal structures, and the tension between protection and exclusion in relation to collective trauma.
In May 2025, the outcomes of the 2024 Sounds like a Book (S)pace edition were presented in an installation at einBuch.haus.
