Albert Coers
For the Calendar 2025 exhibition at einBuch.haus on the topic of "time", one of the ideas was the accumulation of used tea bags in a teapot. Besides daily use and ritual, tea bags are connected to time by their brewing time, often indicated on the labels.
The teapot itself is related to time and books: In 2024, I visited the home of Bruno Schröder (+2022) in Mettingen, one of the biggest private collections of books in Germany, which was to be dissolved, together with the household. I took some books from there - and this teapot.
The idea goes further back: In Books to Do, presented 2023 at einBuch.haus, there is a book project, Nr. 70, The Book of Tea, a calendar with paper wrappings of teabags as inlays.
