Gartenbilder - Bildergarten
The exhibition is part of an exchange between artists from Berlin and Zug. Coers installed picture panels with sign language words in the garden of the temporarily used former Villa Lauried and in the urban space of Zug. He combined similar gestures from botany and from completely different areas, creating analogies and relating the images to the real environment, the garden. The pictorial material comes from an East Berlin dictionary, which establishes the Berlin-Zug connection (Lehr- und Übungsbuch der Gebärden Gehörloser, published by the GDR Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, VEB Verlag Volk und Gesundheit, Berlin 1985)
