New Document
New Document is not new. It’s not a manifesto nor a bible. It’s not made with images. It’s not on our work. It’s not about something certain. It’s not final. It’s not without thoughts and feelings. New Document is an automatic writing exercise against and with the Standards and Orders that inhibit and surround us. An attempt to think with the perilous Organization of words. It’s an exquisite corpse by default shaped randomly in symbiosis with texts of typical guest authors.
The first text that you will encounter in New Document has an obvious title “In the Beginning was the Word.” It departs from the idea that “design” may as well bring to mind the Heideggerian term “dasein.” This onomatopoeic association makes us think that design has something in common with “dasein” or “being-there”. Design in other words means being in a world of defined things redefining them. New Document is linking divers texts around language systems from different registers, linguistic, semiotic, typographic, cinematic, philosophic or again artistic examining in an erratic way how those could overcome themselves and their paradoxes.
