The Masks of Time

“The Masks of Time” is a science fiction novel by American author Robert Silverberg, first published in 1968. By dog-ear- ing the pages of this book, triangles are formed, each pointing to a specific color mentioned in the text. Through the process of dogearing the pages of this book, triangles are formed, each pointing to a specific color mentioned in the text. This indicates the color in which that particular fold should be painted. Whilst flipping through the book, new abstract compositions emerge echoing the written world. 

Color Topologies is an artistic methodology investigated by Claudia de la Torre in her work. It involves color-coding the corners of Sci-Fi books to prompt new narratives and relationships within the texts. This ongoing series begins with a new Sci-Fi novel as its foundation, and production is available upon request.
