Since autumn 2024, Christina Schmid (author, designer, publisher) and Ina Schneider (artist) have been engaged in an ongoing dialogue around shared themes such as paper, folding, the book, time, place, and transformation. The starting point of this exchange were texts by Christina Schmid in which Ina Schneider spontaneously marked “her” lines in orange—words that spoke to her. These text fragments on the walls formed the core of their exhibition at GEDOK-Galerie Stuttgart: the space became a book in which visitors read and lingered, a place for conversations about paper and the book.
For their exhibition at einBuch.haus in Berlin, the two artists continue this dialogue. They further condense the texts into 100 titles for open, still-empty books—unique works conceived as an edition, published by Prima.Publikationen. Shifting fragments that tell ever new stories, taking on different meanings for the person who continues writing, drawing, thinking within them. The fine hand-drawn dot grids created by the artists provide a structure for »impossibly many endings«.
In the exhibition space, the books themselves become objects; the titles on the book spines on the shelves form a modular text. Detached from the book block, book covers become a spatial installation. The space remains essential: the audience becomes part of the open book.
The project brings together literature, paper object, and book design in a single artistic approach—as a place where text, space, and audience continue to write one another.

Prima.Publikationen poeticize everyday life and condense it into works of book art. Each book is conceived as a holistic project, combining artistic research with mediation formats such as exhibitions, interventions in public space, or performative readings. In this way, worlds on paper emerge—and exchange beyond them.
