Na Kim
While wandering through Istanbul, I stepped into a small stationery shop I happened to pass by. As always, I looked through the color stickers I habitually collect. This time I noticed something unusual: the circular basic color set now included an orange color. Even more curious, two circular sticker sets from the same company, likely produced at different times, arranged their colors in different orders. Whose preference decided that orange? Are these two greens truly the same? And how is the sequence of slightly different colors determined? What do we call “objective” in such a system, and through what invisible processes does a shared standard take shape?
