SEDIMENTARY EPISODE I by Miguel Ângelo Martins
The scenes that make up "Sedimentary Episode" are narrated in the 33rd book of Natural History of Pliny in chap. VII that is titled: "Minimum, reverence for among the ancients; discovery and source of: cinnabar, method of using in medicine and in painting; kinds of red-lead; method of use in medicine and painting; watersilver".
Fig. 1- The archers A and A' are positioned in the lower area of the plan and within walking distance of each other. These, after successive throws, intersect a rigid structure that is located on the top of the hill. The arrows diverge in space, rising upwards, reaching the hard sandy body that reflects a scarlet dye.
