Notizbuch mit festem Einband
Du wirst Schritt für Schritt durch die Fertigstellung eines handgehefteten Notizbuchs mit einem festen Einband aus farbigem Buchbinderleinen geführt. Wir beginnen damit, den französischen Kettenstich zu lernen, um die Lagen miteinander zu verbinden. Anschließend verleimen wir den Buchrücken, beschneiden die Kanten und bringen ein Kapitalband an. Zum Schluss lernst du, wie der feste Einband mit Buchbinderleinen gefertigt und anschließend mithilfe einer Buchpresse mit dem Buchblock verbunden wird. Außerdem gestaltest du zum Abschluss eine kleine Collage, um den Einband zu verzieren.
Hardcover Notebook Workshop
You'll be guided through the steps of finshing a handstiched notebook with a hardcover made of colorful book binding cloth. We'll start by learning the french link stitch to bind the pages togther and then glue the spine, trim the edges and attach a headband. We'll lastly learn how to glue the hardcover with book binding cloth and then attach the cover to the book block, using a book press. Also you'll learn do a little collage in the end to decorate the cover.

Instructor
Julia Fabricius (born 1993 in Gothenburg, Sweden) works as a book designer and illustrator and assists in a book bindery. She moved to Berlin from New York more than 7 years ago, where she was studying fine arts and art history at Brooklyn College. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Design in 2018, and after that, she studied book history at Lund University, Sweden, and did an internship at Buchbinderei Klünder, Berlin. In 2021 she started to give online classes in bookbinding and drawing for kids through the digital platform The Yellow Elefant.
