On Kawara I Am Still Alive - Catalogue 252
I Am Still Alive telegrams sent by On Kawara (29,771 days) to the German curator Dr. Zdenek Felix. It presents these works in context, and publishes for the first time a “Chronology” that Kawara drafted in 1973 as a timeline of his life and work. Across this three-page photocopy he refers to this series as “Confirmation (I Am Still Alive).” There is also a global census of institutional holdings of the I Am Still Alive telegrams.
This catalogue was published in conjunction with an exhibition (25 October-9 November 2025) of the telegrams staged simultaneously in two New York City locations: a Bedford-Stuyvesant apartment gallery and a Financial District office. The show was featured in the New York Times, Artforum, and Impulse.
