Current Workshop Schedule
einBuch.haus regularly organises bookbinding workshops that give an insight into book production.
In respond to high demand and interests, we start a new workshop format "One-to-One Artist Book Session" from May 2023. Participants will get advice on printing, binding and concept development from bookbinder Julia Fabricius and Lea Giesecke according to their needs. einBuch.haus not only wants to present artists' books, but also to give visitors the opportunity to create a book inspired by our exhibition programmes.
*The machines in the book workshop is supported by the infrastructure funding of the district office of Pankow in Berlin/ Office for Further Education and Culture.
Bookbinder and Workshop Leader
Julia Fabricius (born 1993 in Gothenburg, Sweden) works as a book designer and illustrator and assists in a book bindery. She moved to Berlin from New York more than 7 years ago, where she was studying fine arts and art history at Brooklyn College. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Design in 2018, and after that, she studied book history at Lund University, Sweden, and did an internship at Buchbinderei Klünder, Berlin. In 2021 she started to give online classes in bookbinding and drawing for kids through the digital platform The Yellow Elefant.
Lea Giesecke is a graphic designer with a focus on print. She loves working with paper and gives bookbinding workshops. During her master's degree, she dealt intensively with the haptic experience of books, resulting in the BookBindingKit (BuchBauKasten) - a poster and cards with detailed information about bookbinding techniques.
