Death in Venice
"Death in Venice" is a script for an imagined additional scene inspired by Thomas Mann's novella and Luchino Visconti's film adaptation. The scene takes place in Aschenbach’s hotel room during his absence—he may be watching Tadzio on the beach. A suitcase lies open on the bed, clothes scattered about. Outside, a palm tree sways gently, footsteps echo in the corridor.
The work explores the possibility of entering the realm of a story and wandering within it—specifically, remaining in the main character's room while the narration unfolds elsewhere.
