In the numbing rhythm of working life, we clock in and out until habit gives way to autopilot. 00:00 captures the gradual darkening of Jardine House in Hong Kong as after-hours arrive and the building recedes into darkness.

The pattern of lights still visible at 11:30 p.m. becomes the basis for Conway’s Game of Life. Photographs transition into the abstract evolution of the cellular automaton, where isolated or overcrowded cells die out, moving towards extinction. This zero-sum logic reflects the isolation of modern workers, each confined to a single lit cell within a system that ultimately consumes itself.
